The AMCU Discussed Market Monitoring System with Traders
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine held the meeting of the Working Group on the introduction and maintenance of the system monitoring of oil and petroleum products market.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, the Union of the Ukrainian Petroleum Product Market Operators (UPPMO).
As the president of the industry association Dmitrii Kulik noted, since 2012, the participants of the fuel market, members of the PPMO of Ukraine, are actively cooperating with the AMCU and other regulatory bodies to promptly provide exhaustive information within the framework of the effective legislation. We are ready to take into account the wishes of the AMCU in terms of developing and upgrading the existing hardware and software complex or creating a new one.
But, as Dmitrii Kulik emphasized, “we will build cooperation on the principles of fair treatment of all market participants and non-admission of discriminatory approach to certain businesses. Equal competitive opportunities are one of the factors that leads to the growth of investment flows, to the development of the industry, and, consequently, to the strengthening of the country’s economy.”
It bears reminding that the memorandum on joint actions to create a favourable environment for the development of fair competition was signed by representatives of the Antimonopoly Committee and the Association of Oil Traders in October 2012. The Memorandum, in particular, provided for the creation of a unified electronic reporting system for the Association’s members.
