LPG Blockade: Encouraging News

As of 20 February 2017, customs clearance of previously blocked petroleum and liquefied gas batches of only three companies: Avtotrans, Nadezhda and Gaztron-Ukraina, has started.

“We cannot say yet that the blockade is called off. The customs service performed the customs clearance, but the railway declines to transport the fuel to places of destination without original waybills, which were withdrawn by the SSU officers and sent over to the Prosecutor’s Office. In fact, the fuel continues to stay there”, the head of Avtotrans Sergei Mikhaylik said.

Meanwhile, according to the survey of other companies, which cargo is blocked under the SSU letters, the are still subject to the silent blockade. Railway cars of several companies are examined for functionality. Other companies still wait for cargo clearance on Energy Customs stations.

“Arbitrariness of the Energy Customs remains. Under law, they must register us officially, but they don’t do it, because they don’t want to challenge the SSU. We hope that this sabotage will get the relevant evaluation in the court with all that it implies for the customs service”, said the head of a gas trading company, who did not want to be identified.
