On the Way to Europe: How Does Shell Control the Fuel Quality.
Independent research data proves that the general situation with the fuel quality on the Ukrainian market has changed positively the last year.
If in the beginning of 2016 there was a visible growing trend of inferior condition fuel supply, according to the research of the Centre of Customers’ Expertise made in March 2017 the samples collected from brand-name fuel stations in various Ukrainian regions were fully compliant with the Euro-5 standard.
The research indicated that this progress is attributed both to small networks of fuel stations and national fuel producers, which tried to comply with the European standard and create a competitive alternative to the imported fuel this way in the difficult economic environment. A significant quality growth factor is the development of control systems of technologies performed by fuel production companies; Shell is one of the successful pioneers in this field on the Ukrainian market.
The company has implemented the multi-stage control system including electric level meters, video surveillance, internal control and audit activities, and also the quality control directly on the production site. The oil trader has launched a mobile laboratory allowing the maximum coverage and timeliness of the analysis several years ago. This project has proven the aspiration of Shell to support high international quality standards for the whole fuel supply chain from a plant to an end-customer once again.
