Oil and Gas Association stand for changing the regulatory system of Ukraine

Apart from the Ministry of Social Policy, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of economic development, the Federation of employers of Ukraine, as well as the Ukrainian Oil and Gas Association.

Deregulation in the sphere of economic activity is one of the key priorities of the Ukrainian Oil and Gas Association. Excessive administrative burden on businesses leads to significant economic losses reflected in the cost of goods and services and becomes one of the main sources of corruption. Therefore, the Association insists on accelerating Ukraine’s transition from a licensing system of receiving documents for the operation of hazardous objects to a declarative system, the abolition of the relationship between accidents at the enterprises and peer review required for renewal of a permit to operate similar facilities.

Unfortunately, while developing the amendments to Resolution No. 1107, the State Labour Service of Ukraine did not consider our reasoned proposals for reducing bureaucratic procedures and simplifying the renewal of permits.

During the discussion the first Deputy of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine Olha Krentovska took a constructive stand and suggested that until September of the current year the State Labour Service of Ukraine prepares a plan to develop a set of legislative and regulatory acts (in the insurance sector, in terms of regulatory law) providing acceleration of transition to the declarative principle.

The Ukrainian Oil and Gas Association will continue to insist on introducing their proposals into the bill drafted within the framework of its public discussion and review by the central executive bodies.
