The American Chamber of Commerce Jointly with Experts of Oil and Gas Industry Have Described Roads to Oil and Gas Sector Reforming

The Committee for Energy of American Chamber of Commerce jointly with experts of leading international and Ukrainian companies have compiled a “white book” of the Ukrainian Oil and Gas Sector Reform.

The document has outlined three major blocks of issues, which should be solved in order to establish an attractive investment environment and assist the development of Ukraine as a self-sufficient, energy-wealthy and competitive state.

The priority tasks, in particular, included further improvement of the legislation on taxation of carbohydrates, implementation of the industry regulatory reform and realisation of the Law On Natural Gas Market in practice. A list of practical recommendations was developed for each block of issues, positive development in the named directions depends on their fulfilment.

The Ukrainian Oil & Gas Association has participated actively in the process of development of recommendations for the Downstream business segment that includes also processing and sales of petroleum products.

The Association has declared many times its readiness to assist to the establishment of a civilized market in all ways, consequently, we believed it to be sufficiently important to present the opinion of private companies and expert society about the business vision at the oil and gas sector and priorities set to the state authorities. We are also confident, that even in current difficult economical situation Ukraine could realise its ambitions by combining efforts of all interested parties, including the business community and state institutions.
