The press service of the Ministry of Economic Development noted that the bill “Buy Ukrainian” carries a direct threat to transparency in the sphere of public procurement in Ukraine and will close access to government orders for small and medium-sized businesses.
According to the Ministry, this initiative distorts the very concept of fair competition and gives advantages to individual representatives of business in a non-market way. “The authors of the draft law cover their true motives with a good slogan of supporting the national producer, while in fact they play along to the big oligarchic business.
To effectively support small and medium-sized enterprises, it is necessary to create budget programs, with clearly defined sectors, in the development of which the state will invest. This is necessary in order to be able to control the result. And allocate more than 40 billion UAH for allegedly developing business blindly, at least inefficiently” the press center commented.
The Oil and Gas Association of Ukraine believes that the introduction of the notion of a protective tariff quota in the Law of Ukraine “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts in the Sphere of Trade Protection” is also a good slogan for supporting a national producer, which in fact contributes only to a large oligarchic business.
