OKKO closed fundraising for “Reconnaissance Strike Complexes – Long Arms of the Territorial Defense Forces” for the “Come Back Alive” initiative
The OKKO gas station network has transferred more than 48 million hryvnias to the “Reconnaissance Strike Complexes – Long Arms of the Territorial Defense Forces (RSC-Long Arms of TDF)” fund for the competent assistance of the army’s “Come Back Alive” initiative, thus completely closing the fundraising for the project. In total, the fund collected 333 million hryvnias for the territorial defense units, providing them with reconnaissance strike complexes (RSC) equipped with 120 mm mortars.
Funds were accumulated separately for each region, ranging from UAH 10.8 million to UAH 32.4 million, since the Territorial Defense Forces are formed according to the territorial principle, and each region has one to three brigades. Thanks to the company’s help, financing was obtained for the TDF in the following regions of Ukraine: Ternopil, Poltava, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad, Zakarpattia, Odesa, and Chernivtsi. In different regions, 22% to 55% of the required sum was missing.
“We help the Armed Forces of Ukraine – both directly and through volunteer organizations. The “EYE for an EYE” featuring “Come Back Alive” projects was launched and almost completed. The first of 25 SHARK intelligence complexes was handed over to the military, and the others are already in operation. In April, we are launching another large-scale joint project, which we are actively working on. But we don’t stop there. Today, our company has decided to make its contribution to arming the TDF and speed up the fundraising for an important initiative of the fund. Thus, we are completely closing the fundraising for the territorial defense forces’ reconnaissance and strike complexes,” comments CEO of OKKO, Vasyl Danylyak. “Come Back Alive” knows and works on the urgent needs of not just the front line, but our goal is to systematically strengthen the army and bring victory closer.”
“TDF is armed with 60- and 82-millimeter mortars. We will purchase 120mm mortars, which will increase the firing range from 4 to 7.1 kilometers. Therefore, the ability to repel the enemy will be significantly strengthened,” says Oleg Karpenko, director of the Department of Development and Partnerships at “Come Back Alive”. “The Territorial Defense Forces protect and liberate Ukraine from the occupiers along the entire front. For example, together with other branches of the armed forces, the Russians are being restrained in one of the most difficult areas – Bakhmut. Timely and large-scale assistance from our partner OKKO will allow us to provide the defenders with the necessary equipment as soon as possible.”
In total, 31 brigades of Territorial Defense Forces will receive Reconnaissance Strike Complexes – Long Arms. Each of the reconnaissance and strike complexes will consist of:
▪️ Six 120-mm caliber mortars
▪️ Three walk-through pickup trucks
▪️ Fourteen Motorola radio stations
