OKKO Installs 24 New Ultra-Fast Charging Stations, Expanding Its Network to 60 Units Across 36 Service Stations

In the first half of 2025, OKKO, a member of the Ukrainian Oil & Gas Association (UOGA), installed 24 ultra-fast charging stations at 19 of its service stations. In total, the company’s network now comprises 60 such chargers, deployed across 36 infrastructure sites.

The new charging points have been commissioned both along key intercity routes — including Kyiv–Odesa, Kyiv–Lviv–Chop, and Boryspil–Dnipro–Zaporizhzhia — and in regional centres such as Kyiv, Lviv, and Dnipro. These ultra-fast chargers enable vehicles to replenish up to 80% of battery capacity within 30–40 minutes, allowing drivers to continue their journeys with minimal delays.

“We identified a challenge: while electric vehicles are widely used in urban settings, there remains a lack of high-quality infrastructure on intercity routes. That is why, back in 2023, we made a strategic decision to systematically expand this service along major highways,” stated Vasyl Dmytriv, Vice President of Marketing at OKKO.

Particular attention has been paid to the development of a charging hub near the village of Levkiv in Zhytomyr region, where up to 12 electric vehicles can charge simultaneously. The placement of new stations is guided by thorough traffic and user behaviour analysis to optimise service efficiency.

“We continuously analyse customer behaviour and build where it truly benefits them,” added Mr. Dmytriv.

OKKO has been developing its electric vehicle charging infrastructure since 2014. Since 2023, the company has concentrated on scaling its ultra-fast charging network as a core investment priority.

According to the Main Service Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as of early 2025, Ukraine had registered over 160,000 electric vehicles — a 2.5-fold increase compared to 2023. Given the rapid growth of this segment, the expansion of modern and accessible highway-level charging infrastructure is a crucial element in supporting mobility and sustainable development.

OKKO (Concern Galnaftogaz), a member of the Ukrainian Oil & Gas Association, is part of OKKO Group and ranks among Ukraine’s largest fuel retail networks. The company engages in both retail and wholesale distribution of petroleum products and provides a range of ancillary goods and services. Its structure includes roadside dining facilities, mobile and stationary fuel quality control laboratories, petroleum product expertise units, and extensive logistical capabilities.
